FAQ
-
What is Sublifuse?Sublifuse is a heat sensitive polymer film that allows sublimation decoration on a range of substrates. Sublifuse acts as the polymer coating which is then fused to the vinyl to allow the transfer on to other substrates. Sublifuse provides long-lasting, vibrant prints with its UV-protected and weather-resistant properties.
-
Is it similar to subliglaze? Our material is a polymer coating sheet which can be sublimated on and can be applied to other substrates using a sign vinyl. It does not have any curing time and is less harmful than aerosols.
-
Can I print directly onto vinyl? No, a layer of Sublifuse must be placed over your vinyl. The image must be printed on to sublimation paper then pressed onto the layer of Sublifuse at the recommended transfer times on a heat press.
-
What type of Heat Press do I need?A swing or clam press is recommended as the material needs heavy pressure and consistent heat for clear, vibrant results.
-
What are the advantages of Sublifuse?Sublifuse gives you scope to create and produce products using materials that would not otherwise be sublimatable. Primarily used to convert any light coloured and transparent sign vinyl into a printable vinyl without the need for expensive printing equipment. Sublifuse eliminates the need for additional coatings or pre-coated products as it's versatility allows it to be applied to various substrates. It can also be pressed directly onto wood.
-
Why has my vinyl melted and stuck to my protective paper? The edges of your vinyl can sometimes melt due to the heat of the platen. We recommend your Sublifuse overlaps the vinyl or substrate and use a teflon sheet on the top and bottom protective layer.
